About the artist
Art has always been a part of my life, and it is important to me in many different ways; it is how I express myself, and it is a way to relax as well as push my limits. I am inspired by the connection people can have to characters and imagined worlds. I am able to connect to my friends and others through our characters and stories. A few recurring themes in my work are wheat, pigs, and blood. They are references to a short story I wrote, “Stunning.” In this tale, I attempt to connect and reveal the sameness in the suffering of humans and animals in a dreamlike and then twisted, endless field of wheat.
I have always had a strong appreciation for animals, thus they play a big part in my artistic subject matter. I am constantly sketching and creating creatures of my own design. I have an interest in artistic expression relating to character design. I also enjoy combining dreamlike surrealism and animals.
